Following the success of our first collaboration, the Freud Museum in London invited me back to design series of exclusive silk handerkerchieves inspired by Freud’s collection.
The museum curators allowed to behind the velvet ropes to look closely at Freud’s favourite objects, which were lined up on his desk.
A solid bronze cast figurine of the goddess Athena takes pride of place on the centre of Freud’s desk – the sole piece to be smuggled out of Austria in 1938 when the loss of his entire collection was threatened.
Other special women in Freud’s life include Venus, another bronze Roman statue…
…and Eros – a terracotta Greek figurine.
