Karen Mabon
Every measurement below is taken from the garment itself, laid flat and unstretched — not from the body. The quickest way to find your size is to lay out a piece you already love, measure it the same way, and match the number.
Karen Mabon is cut to British sizing. If you shop in US sizes, use the row below to find your equivalent.

Chest is measured straight across the front from underarm to underarm, so the full circumference is double the figure shown — a size M measures 110cm around the chest. Lay a pyjama top you already wear flat, measure it the same way, and match it to the row above.

Waist and hip are measured flat across the front, so the full circumference is double the figure shown. Inseam runs from the crotch seam to the hem — measure a pair you already own from the same two points to check the length is right for your height.

Robes are offered in three sizes rather than nine. They wrap and tie rather than fasten to a fixed measurement, so each size covers a wider range than the rest of the collection.

Swimwear is measured flat and unstretched. The fabric has considerable give, so these figures are the resting measurement rather than the worn one.

Lay the garment on a flat surface, smooth it out, and don't pull the fabric taut. A tape measure is ideal; a piece of string against a ruler works just as well.
With the garment buttoned and flat, measure straight across the front from one underarm seam to the other. Don't measure around the garment.
Measure straight across the waistband from side seam to side seam, with any elastic at rest rather than stretched out.
For tops, measure from the highest point of the shoulder seam straight down to the hem. For slip dresses, measure from the underarm to the hem.
Measure from the crotch seam straight down the inside leg to the hem. This is the figure that tells you how the trousers will sit on your height.
Our cotton is GOTS certified organic. Like all natural fibres it may relax or shrink very slightly after its first wash, so wash cool and dry flat to keep the measurements above true.
Silk has almost no stretch, so the flat measurements above are what you get. If you are between two sizes in a silk piece, the larger will always be the more comfortable choice.
Our sleepwear is cut to be lived in rather than fitted. If your measurement falls between two rows, take the larger size.
Send us a note and we'll help you choose. We would far rather spend five minutes getting it right than have you send something back.
