A is for... Alphabet Scarves at Anthropologie

A is for... Anthropologie

Anthropologie Karen Mabon Silk Monogram Neck Tie

This winter we've teamed up with Anthropologie to design a full alphabet of monogrammed silk scarves. Each scarf has a unique initial on a background of either rich raspberry, deep teal or golden yellow ochre. They are available in both Anthropologie EU and US, in store and online.

B is for… Birds and Botany

Kew GardensAudubon illustration

Whilst exploring Kew Gardens, Karen found inspiration in the greenery and nature she was surrounded by. She looked to artists such as Audubon, for beautiful bird illustrations and to Peter Blake for his iconic alphabet artworks.

C is for... Colour

Karen Mabon studio moodboard

Colour is extremely important at Karen Mabon and there is no shortage of colour in the studio. From samples of scarves to beautiful artists books and the odd ceramic plate, the studio is full of interesting objects to inspire drawings and prints. Karen decided to create three colour-ways based around one colour palette.

D is for... Drawing

Drawing the design

After becoming immersed in pictures and drawings of nature, Karen took to the drawing board to create her own illustration to surround each initial.

E is for... evolving from sketch to scarf

After coming to life as a silk scarf the illustrations become versatile and wearable. Whether knotted under the collar of a crisp shirt or decadently framed, there's innumerable ways to wear or display the alphabet scarves. We would absolutely love for you to send us pictures of how you are wearing your alphabet scarf, tag us @karenmabon or #karenmabon on Instagram and Twitter.
